Application Procedures

For Project Proposals Due Monday, November 2, 2015

For 2015, the Harper Court Arts Council is requesting project proposals for programming benefiting residents of the Hyde Park-Kenwood community. The application process for this grant cycle is outlined below and includes links to attachments which must accompany the applicant proposal.

Please submit the following information:

Background Information - 5 Pages

  • Cover Form   (Download Cover Form)
  • Mission Statement (300 characters maximum; included in Cover Form)
  • Short History of Organization (2500 characters (2500 characters = one page) maximum)
  • Description of Current Program (2500 characters maximum)
  • A statement of how your organization benefits residents of the Hyde Park-Kenwood community; be specific about what populations your serve and the metrics/measurements your use to measure the benefits (2500 characters maximum)
  • Three Year Operating Budget History   (Download Budget Form)

Project Proposal - 4 pages

  • A brief description of the proposed project (2500 characters maximum)
  • A statement of how the project benefits residents of the Hyde Park Kenwood community; be specific about what populations, and the metrics/measurements that will be used to measure the benefits (2500 characters maximum)
  • Project Budget, including all expenses and revenue, project funding sources   (Download Project Budget Form)

Required Attachments

  • Board of Directors List
  • List of current and projected/pending funders
  • IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter
  • Current Audit or 990 Return - if your organization is funded through a parent organization, please provide a separate internal audit or explanation of your organization’s budget control/reporting process
  • Note: If you have followed the above guidelines, your basic application should not exceed 9 pages, excluding required attachments, as noted above.
  • Please do not submit any supplemental materials (i.e. photos, brochures, electronic content) other than the Required Attachments expressly requested by HCAC
  • The Arts Council reserves the right to disqualify any application that does not meet the stated grant guidelines and/or application format.

Most grants will range in size from $2,000 to $10,000. Grantees will be required to sign a grant letter and submit a full narrative and financial report on their grant at a date designated by the Arts Council, and will not be considered for further funding until that report is reviewed and approved.

Proposals are due on or before 3:00 pm on Monday, November 2, 2015.

Applicants will receive electronic confirmation of receipt of their application within 48 hours.

The Arts Council will not be responsible for organizations that do not meet the deadline because their electronic documents fail to transmit because of sizing problems. We suggest you package your content in one or more emails totaling no more than 15 MB each.
